Thank you for visiting my website, I hope you enjoy my images.
I grew up in Ann Arbor Michigan and developed an early love of the outdoors from family camping trips, Boy Scout
activities and many hours spent in the fields and woods near home. After high school I attended Michigan Technological
University in Michigan's Upper Peninsula where I developed an interest in photography while exploring the Keweenaw peninsula
and the surrounding areas. I graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and started a 20+ year career in the automotive industry. During this time photography remained a hobby. In 2003 I decided an equipment upgrade was in order and purchased a Canon EOS-3 and several high quality lenses and with the improved results the hobby became a passion. In 2004 I switched to digital and am thrilled with the greater flexibility and dynamic range. In the past few years I have traveled to many places including Alaska, South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado and many trips within Michigan exploring and searching for great photos.
My other interests include fishing, kayaking, restoring cars, classic jukeboxes, and homebrewing award winning beers and ciders.
I can sit for hours watching wildlife and get great enjoyment watching wildlife going about their normal routines.
This carries over to my photography where I take great care to avoid disturbing my subjects. I am particularly proud of my Common Loon pictures. Most of these pictures are of the same Loon pair I have been photgraphing for 5 years now. Their acceptance of me watching and photographing them has been incredible.
I started this website in January of 2004 as way to publicly show my work and to make it available for purchase. Current products include prints (either matted or unmatted), note cards, computer screensavers and dye sublimation coffee mugs and mouse pads.
